Markham leads York Region in construction volume. Unionville heritage areas, Cornell developments, Markham Village builds, Buttonville properties – diverse projects unified by demanding standards and tight schedules. We provide custom home painting throughout Markham’s building boom. General contractors need painters who won’t delay their timelines. Homeowners want quality that justifies their investment. Our teams deliver both – systematic work that meets deadlines and passes inspections.Years painting new homes taught our crews fundamental lessons. Drywall preparation can’t be rushed, trim finishing requires four coats with proper sanding, wall surfaces need treatment between applications. Quality materials and proven methods produce results that satisfy everyone.

The Three Stages of Custom Home Painting
Painting new builds isn’t comparable to refreshing existing houses. The approach changes completely – schedules differ, challenges increase, coordination becomes critical. We don’t simply show up day one and begin applying coats. We work with builders, coordinate around carpenters, sync with tapers and other crews. Our established system consistently produces professional results. Here’s how we handle complete projects:

Drywall Priming
When drywall finishing wraps up, we begin priming operations. Ceilings get sprayed and backrolled for even distribution. Walls receive rolled application only – spraying gets skipped here. Why? Construction zones maintain dusty conditions throughout. Spraying walls traps floating dust, creating gritty texture. Rolling delivers cleaner outcomes, moves quicker, needs minimal masking work. Perfect compromise between speed and finish quality.

Initial Painting
We start initial painting when tiles are laid and carpentry completes. Ideal scenario includes finished floors, installed vanities, hung kitchen cabinets. This order protects new coatings from subsequent trade damage. Sites should be cleared – tools removed, materials relocated, workers finished. Basic cleanliness should exist before starting.
Initial painting encompasses four components – prep work, spray application, wall coating, and thorough cleanup procedures.
Preparations
Every nail hole gets filled, all damaged trim and doors receive repairs. Hundreds of gaps between walls and woodwork get caulked. Tiles, windows, floors all get shielded from overspray. Proper preparation takes necessary time.
Spray Painting
All woodwork receives spray primer, then gets sanded perfectly smooth. Second primer coat applies, followed by more sanding. Two finish coats complete the process, each separated by sanding. Four total applications create glass-smooth trim surfaces. Complete door coverage includes both faces and all edge details.
Walls Painting, and Clean-Up
Walls receive light sanding then initial rolled coat. After second application, final sanding ensures smooth finish. All protection gets removed, windows and floors receive cleaning. Accent walls and color transitions show sharp boundaries without any bleed-through.

Paint Touch Ups
Once remaining trades finish – plumbing, electrical, countertop installation – we return for touchups. Any damage from their activities gets corrected. Usually needs 2-4 days based on trade count and their attention to detail.
Scuffed walls get attention, scratched trim receives repair, damaged areas get repainted. Stair staining fits perfectly here with traffic eliminated. Final review with homeowner or builder confirms everything meets expectations.
